Swede Seeds
Swedes are vegetables belonging to the cabbage species of the cruciferous family. The tuber itself and the young leaves are edible. These days, this vegetable is rarely eaten and has fallen into the category of "forgotten vegetables".
We sell, for example, the following varieties of swede seeds: English Yellow Redhead (Champion) from the brand ’Buzzy Seeds’ and the organic swede ’Helenor’ from the brand ’de Bolster’.

The harvested roots can be stored, at a temperature of 1°C, for up to six months. Before being eaten, they are peeled and then often cut into chips or cubes and eaten cooked. If you want to read more about the sowing of of swede, read at THIS PAGE.
Swedes need a lot of boron. Boron deficiency is indicated by glassy spots, a rough, corky surface and hollow heads. Too much nitrogen results in poorer flavour.
Swedes in the kitchen
Swedes are often cut as chips. You can boil these and make a delicious stew. You can also fry them in the air fryer as chips. This method is often used in low-carb diets.
